What Is It Like To Have Dementia?

A Short Walk In Their Shoes

If someone you love has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or dementia, you understand how devastating it is to witness the drastic life changes they experience.   Have you ever wondered what it would be like if you were in their shoes?  How do those suffering from memory loss see the world?  I came across this video the other day on YouTube.  It was so enlightening, that I found it a disservice if I didn’t share it with all of you.  I hope that you too will find a new understanding of the struggles those who have memory loss face in their daily lives.

“Knowledge is power!” Understanding how this horrible disease affects those we care about is the key that unlocks compassion, encourages better care, and gives us patience.  As you will see in this video, the way they perceive the world is very different from ours and is completely out of their control.
